Thought of the Day: What I Desire
October 21, 2009, 5:00 am

I don’t crave a gift to fill the gaps
Or handouts to stop my hunger.
I don’t seek your pity for my poverty
Or your sympathy for my solitude.
I don’t require tears for my tragedies
Your advice for my deficiencies
Or your comfort for each catastrophe.
What I desire is
The occasion to show I’m able
The chance to be sensational
Just a moment to be inspirational
Or in my attempt make failure beautiful.
The most simple of gifts it seems
And yet most rare it is to receive.
I wonder if you’ll give this to me
The gift of opportunity.

The difference between a life of darkness and depression and one of promise and purpose can be as small as one thought, one singular hope.  Remember that next time you have the opportunity to share the greatest hope of all, Jesus Christ, with one who is in darkness.  Don’t fail to speak out life.

I don’t know why, but my readership goes UP when I fail to write a thought for a few days.  Maybe I have more fans of my silence than my speaking?  : )

Life is measured by it’s abnormal moments, whether good or bad.  So quite striving for a normal life and embrace your abnormalities.

Thought of the Day: Obedience v. Ability

Yesterday I led 3 worship sets with almost no voice.  A funny thing happened: God showed up.  While ability is nice, obedience is a much greater tool in God’s tool box.

Never fail to give because you feel your gift is too small.  One voice alone may be a small sound, but a million joined together makes a sound that can’t be ignored.

We live in a world of constant noise.  How can we expect to hear the still small voice of God if we never find quiet in our own lives?
